Petroleum engineering major at Texas Tech University, Charles McKirahan previously worked for United Parcel Service of America, Inc. (UPS) and Global Flexi Systems as a Warehouse Supervisor and Load Inspector, respectively. At UPS, he supervised the outbound loading area, maintained customer satisfaction, ensured employee safety and efficiency, and managed 10 to 12 employees daily. Charles McKirahan worked for UPS from 2003 until 2005. After two years at UPS, McKirahan accepted a position with Global Flexi Systems as a Load Inspector. In this capacity, he oversaw the transfer of liquid cargo to Global Flexi Systems’ special transport containers. His responsibilities involved ensuring the proper function of the valves, preventing leaks, checking cargo weights, and confirming that cargo temperatures met the correct specifications. Charles McKirahan plans to graduate from Texas Tech University by May or December 2012, and he hopes to obtain a position as a petroleum engineer. He currently maintains membership in both the Society of Petroleum Engineers and the American Association of Drilling Engineers. In his leisure time, Charles McKirahan prefers to spend his time outdoors, enjoying the beauty of Texas. His hobbies include fresh- and saltwater fishing, ATV riding, mountain biking, and video gaming.
