Cathy Zoi

As a Partner at Silver Lake Kraftwerk, Cathy Zoi continues her nearly three-decades-long career in renewable energy, clean technology, and energy policy. With offices around the world, Silver Lake Kraftwerk handles private investments in technology credit, resource innovation, and large cap technology and middle market technology.

Before joining Silver Lake Kraftwerk, Cathy Zoi earned a Bachelor of Science magna cum laude in Geology from Duke University and a Master of Science in Engineering from Dartmouth College. She has held positions in both the public and private sectors and sat on Boards of Directors and Advisory Committees of firms involved in the clean energy field.

While serving as a manager at the United States Environmental Protection Agency, Cathy Zoi helped initiate the Energy Star Program, which helps consumers identify eco-friendly manufacturers and products. During the Clinton administration, Zoi served as Chief of Staff of the White House Office on Environmental Policy. She returned to public service during the Obama administration when the President selected her as the Assistant Secretary of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy, a division of the Department of Energy.

After working in the federal government, Cathy Zoi accepted the role of founding Chief Executive Officer for the Alliance for Climate Protection, an organization founded by Al Gore. Here, Zoi oversaw several programs, including Repower America, Repower at Home, the Climate Project, and the Reality Coalition. Throughout her career, she has also provided insight to international organizations, including The Bayard Group (currently Landis+Gyr) in Switzerland, the New South Wales EPA, and the New South Wales Sustainable Energy Development Authority.
