In 1985, Ted Sowder opened his first dance studio in Mobile, Alabama. In that same year, Ted met his wonderful, soon-to-be wife Kim, and the couple connected over their mutual love of dance. Since then, the pair have shared their competitive dancing expertise professionally as accomplished dance instructors for American Ballroom Dance Club, based out of Charlotte, North Carolina. Showcasing a large number of successful former clients, the Sowders have made an impressive name for themselves as true dance pros. As President of American Ballroom Dance Club, Ted Sowder, along with Kim, specialize in providing the best dance instruction at the most reasonable prices. No matter a person’s age or previous ability, Ted and Kim are well prepared to help any client achieve his/her dancing goals. Offering many different types of dance instruction, including cha-cha, foxtrot, waltz, salsa, samba, swing, and more, Ted Sowder’s American Ballroom Dance Club allows for his students to experience the vast possibilities of dance at their own pace. Additionally, should someone want to learn dance in the privacy of their home, Ted Sowder’s studio offers an impressive selection of beginner, intermediate, and advanced instructional DVDs, featuring champion dancer Cher Rutherford. Outside of dance instruction, Ted Sowder also runs American Ballroom Receptions & Events. Offering a vast assortment of event planning options, American Ballroom Receptions & Events has a long record of accomplishment on behalf of its clients.
