Vania Tiatto
With over a decade of experience in educational leadership roles, Vania Tiatto serves as Head of Primary Education at Discovery College in Hong Kong. Since July 2010, Ms. Tiatto has fulfilled numerous responsibilities that include directing achievement standards, curriculum, learning and teaching programs, as well as implementing the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (IBPYP). Moreover, she maintains involvement in budgetary matters and frequently communicates with stakeholders to ensure that the college meets all mission-relevant objectives.
From 2006 to 2010, Vania Tiatto served as Head of Junior School Education at Kardinia International College in Geelong, Australia. She notably led the development and implementation of the college’s IBPYP program through the pre-authorization, authorization, and evaluation stages. With responsibility for the pastoral care of students and staff, Ms. Tiatto upheld high standards in teaching, staffing, and school-wide achievement.
After graduating with a B.Ed. in Language Education from the Australian Catholic University in Melbourne, Vania Tiatto accepted a staff position with the newly opened Bethany Catholic School in Melbourne in 1995. Over the next nine years, she fulfilled a number of distinct roles that included Vice Principal, curriculum leader, and classroom teacher. From 2002 to 2003, Ms. Tiatto pursued a Master of Education in Educational Leadership and Management at the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology. In 2004, she accepted a position with Caulfield Grammar in Melbourne as Head of Teaching and Learning. Vania Tiatto’s responsibilities with the teaching and learning program entailed working alongside instructors in a classroom setting. She also managed operational expenditures, ensuring that all curriculum documentation was current.
Throughout her time in Hong Kong, Ms. Tiatto has been involved in a number of conferences and other events. She presented at the 2010 English School Foundation Leading Links Programme, “Leading Professional Conversations,” and spoke at the 2010 English School Foundation Senior Leadership Conference, “Protocols for Leading Professional Conversations.” Additionally, Vania Tiatto maintains affiliations with a number of professional organizations, including the Independent Primary School Heads of Australia and the Australian Council for Educational Leaders.
