Terry Allen Perl
For four decades, Terry Allen Perl has maintained a dedication to assisting people with disabilities. Mr. Perl began his tenure at the School of the Chimes, Inc., as Director of Residential and Adult Programs. Within two years, Chimes International Ltd. named him President and CEO.
Over the course of his career at Chimes, Terry Allen Perl has taken what was a school for 200 people with disabilities and turned it into a multiservice organization that now serves more than 17,000 individuals in 8 states, Washington, D.C., and Israel. SmartCEO magazine named Mr. Perl as among the Smart 100 chief executive officers in Maryland. Additionally, the U.S. Senate granted Chimes the Productivity Award in 2006.
In addition to his role in leading Chimes International, Terry Allen Perl served on a number of local, state, and national organizations that provide services to people with developmental disabilities. He served as a member of the Board of Trustees and the Executive Committee of CARF International. Additionally, he has served as a member of the Board of Directors of the Maryland Association of Community Services and holds membership on the Council for Exceptional Children and the Council for Administrators in Special Education. In addition, Terry Allen Perl was an Official Advisor to the President’s Committee for People with Intellectual Disabilities.
Since retiring from Chimes in January 2011, Terry Allen Perl has continued to remain active within the community of people with disabilities following his relocation from Maryland to Tucson, AZ with his wife, Martha,
