Steven Koinis
Mr. Steven Koinis is a graduate of Harvard University’s Business School, and an established figure in the field of investment banking. He is a seasoned financial executive with a career spanning over 20 years that has taken him around the world. Getting his start with Owens-Corning Fiberglas, Inc., Steven Koinis was the Manager of New Business Development for that firm’s Middle Eastern and North African Operations before he moved on to be alternately Project Manager in the Acquisitions department and the Manager of Product Planning, Distribution and MIS for Owens-Corning Fiberglas G.B. Ltd., N.V. Owens-Corning S.A. Mr. Koinis returned to the United States, and worked for a select number of firms over the next decade, including: BTR, Plc, Washington Gas Light Venture Capital Group, and The Octagon Group of Companies. He held executive positions in all of these companies, and displayed his trademark ambition and drive in every capacity. During this time he led companies to successful leveraged buy-outs, initial public offerings on NASDAQ, and restructuring campaigns that resulted in the doubling of company sales and reduction of overhead operating costs by over US $3 million annually. These actions earned him a reputation as a competent and dedicated business professional that was the man to call if you wanted to “make it rain.” Over the last decade Mr. Koinis has focused much of his energy and time within companies based in or around the Persian Gulf states. Presently the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Makan Capital Group, he has worked with a major real estate private equity firm as Chief Investment Officer; al Qudra Holding, PJSC as Chief Executive Officer; Juniper Group Holdings, LLC as Managing Director and Managing Partner; The International Investor; and Abu Dhabi Investment Company, (a wholly owned subsidiary of Abu Dhabi Investment Authority, authorized to invest the funds of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi) as Senior Manager of Merchant (Private Equity) and Investment Banking. Mr. Koinis is married, with two children. In his spare time he enjoys reading, traveling and playing golf.
