Sidney Elyea
With 15 years of solid experience in the field of construction, Sidney Elyea has made a name for himself in the industry for being efficient, fair, professional, and reliable. His latest construction accomplishment takes the form of 40 fitness centers, which he remodeled for Life Time Fitness, Inc., a national chain of fitness clubs known for their high-end facilities. Sidney Elyea worked tirelessly in every facet of management, pursuing total customer satisfaction. His duties included applying for local and regional permits, hiring various contractors, creating construction schedules, reviewing the project with all field personnel, and meeting with owners to keep things on schedule and review the project’s progress. Prior to Life Time Fitness, Sidney Elyea managed the construction of a 70-unit condominium building for Klingelhutz Construction, a project that posed many difficulties but one that he ultimately brought in on time and under budget. Before he built the condominiums, Sidney Elyea served as Senior Project Manager for Dale Gruber Construction, where he acted as a key figure in more than 30 major residential and commercial design-build remodeling projects. Before that, he functioned as Estimator/Drafter for Granite City Roofing, a position in which Sidney Elyea created shop drawings, used architectural plans to create lists of roofing and sheet metal material needs, and attended meetings with owners, general contractors, and architects to conduct roof inspections. At C&E Construction Managers, Mr. Elyea served as Project Manager/Estimator and managed the construction of more than 50 commercial projects, construction convenience store gas stations throughout a seven states area. Sidney Elyea’s scope of talent covers a wide range, possessing skills in estimating carpentry labor, materials, sub-contractors, and equipment costs as well as the preparation of accurate bids. Able to assess a project’s needs, Sidney Elyea ensures that each project runs at maximum efficiency. Organization and time skills are critical to effective project management, and Sidney Elyea possesses both, coupled with the capacity to handle multiple projects simultaneously. In addition, Mr. Elyea takes care to guarantee that all construction complies with specifications, blueprints, and client change requests. Sidney Elyea graduated from St. Cloud Technical & Community College in 1991 with a diploma in a program then known as Building, Construction, Drafting, and Estimating (renamed Architectural Construction Technology). While there, he maintained a 3.10 GPA. Sidney Elyea’s next educational pursuit took off in 1999 when he enrolled in Cardinal Stritch University in Eden Prairie, Minnesota, eventually graduating magna cum laude with a 3.77 GPA and a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management in 2003.
