About Dr. Scott Tetreault:

From his Sarasota, Florida, office, Dr. Scott Tetreault offers patients his expertise in internal medicine and oncology, which he has cultivated over the past three decades. He began studying biology at Wake Forest University, supported by a Leon T. Fruehauf Scholarship.

After earning his Bachelor’s degree, Dr. Tetreault began post-baccalaureate studies in organic chemistry and physics at the University of Florida, prior to studying at the University of Miami and graduating with a medical degree. Dr. Scott Tetreault then began an internal medicine residency, which he completed in June 1994. Afterward, he served a year as a Clinical Assistant Professor of Internal Medicine at the University of Florida College of Medicine, earning recognition as Teacher of the Year.

Dr. Scott Tetreault then moved to California, where he opened a private practice in internal medicine. While in California, Dr. Tetreault served as Chairman of the Department of Medicine at Barton Memorial Hospital in South Lake Tahoe, California. Beginning in July 1997, he began an oncology fellowship at The Scripps Research Institute, a nonprofit focused on biomedical breakthroughs.

After completing the fellowship, Dr. Scott Tetreault moved back to Florida and began operating a private practice through Florida Cancer Specialists. Additionally, he served as Chairman of the Department of Medicine at the Doctors Hospital of Sarasota for a year and offered his knowledge as a Clinical Professor at Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine and a Clinical Assistant Professor at Florida State University College of Medicine.

Dr. Scott Tetreault holds licenses to practice in Nevada, California, and Florida. He has been certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and is also certified in the Board’s Subspecialty of Internal Medicine. He belongs to the American Society for Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology, the American Society of Clinical Oncology, and the American College of Physicians, among other organizations. He served as an Executive Board Member for the Florida Society of Clinical Oncology and the Community Oncology Alliance. Dr. Scott Tetreault was voted Doctor of the Year in Sarasota by his peers in 2003 and acknowledged as one of the Best Medical Specialists by Living Out East Magazine in 2009.
