Michael Clauser
From March 2009 to December 2010, Michael Clauser served as the National Security Legislative Assistant to a senior member of the House Armed Services Committee and the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence. Michael Clauser supported the Congressman in developing and promoting bills and amendments. He previously worked as Special Assistant in the Office of the Deputy Under Secretary of the Navy from 2008 to 2009, Special Assistant for the Office of the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Legislative Affairs from 2007 to 2008, and Research Associate for Commonwealth Consulting Corporation from 2005 to 2007. A native of Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, Michael Clauser currently resides in Washington, D.C. Michael Clauser graduated from Pennsylvania State University in 2004 with undergraduate degrees in Religious Studies and Philosophy. During his final year in college, Michael Clauser gained experience abroad in Athens, Greece. Continuing his education in Exeter, England, and Poznan, Poland, Michael Clauser completed Master’s degrees in European Studies and International Relations in 2006. Most recently attending U.S. Naval War College, Michael Clauser is a Master’s candidate in National Security and Strategic Studies. Outside of his academic studies, he enjoys traveling, painting, blogging, weight lifting, and running, as well as reading the works of Gabriel García Márquez, Walt Whitman, Jack Kerouac, and Friedrich Nietzsche.
