Matthew Hollibush

Since taking on his first professional teaching position as a high school literature teacher in 1999, Matthew Hollibush has forged a solid reputation for his deep knowledge of teacher education and passion for improving his profession. Esteemed among peers, professors, and students alike for his commitment to exemplary service, Matthew Hollibush presently contributes his experiences toward his assistant professorship at Mount Saint Mary College. With a research background in high literacy and teacher education, Matt Hollibush currently instructs on Secondary Language Arts Methods and Secondary Literacy courses. Matthew Hollibush also supervises student teachers performing fieldwork and sits on the Student Advisory Committee and the Community Engagement Initiative Committee.

Before joining the faculty at Mount Saint Mary College, Matthew Hollibush prepared for his current role by teaching a number of courses as a graduate student at the University of Utah, Salt Lake City. Having taught classes such as Content Area Literacy Instruction and Instruction and Management in a Diverse Society, Matthew Hollibush possesses particular expertise on teaching methods for underrepresented students. Matthew Hollibush has lectured on his research findings to various organizations, including the American Association of Colleges for Teacher Education and the Association of Teacher Educators.

Matthew Hollibush graduated from the University of Utah, Salt Lake City, with a PhD in Teaching and Learning. Matthew Hollibush also holds an MA in Curriculum and Instruction and a BS in Secondary Education.

Beyond his professional endeavors, New York-resident Matthew Hollibush enjoys reading, traveling, camping, fly fishing, and spending time with his family and friends.
