John Voelz Physical Therapist
John Voelz initially turned to physical therapy and exercise science after graduating from the University of Northern Iowa in 1989 with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. Subsequently earning a Master’s degree in Exercise Science in 1994 and then studying at Creighton University to become a Physical Therapist, John Voelz graduated with a clinical doctorate in 2000. A member of the Huntley Chamber of Commerce, John Voelz focuses his work as a Physical Therapist on senior care and treating various chronic health conditions associated with age. In late 2010, John Voelz opened NorthWest Senior Wellness. A medically based wellness and therapy center solely for individuals over 55 or those with type 2 diabetes, the business offers a variety of services not usually associated with a fitness facility. These include a wide range of preventative care services designed to provide feedback on each member’s existing level of health, such as blood pressure and blood sugar screenings. Leveraging his experience as a Physical Therapist, John Voelz ensures the center provides the best equipment and fitness programs for the particular needs of seniors and those with health concerns. Further distinguishing NorthWest Senior Wellness from more traditional gyms or fitness centers, John Voelz maintains his commitment to personal attention by offering the center’s services exclusively on an appointment basis. This allows members to utilize John Voelz’s physical therapy prowess and the center’s other healthcare professionals on a one-on-one basis, ensuring each individual program is effective and constantly evolving as personal health and fitness levels fluctuate and improve. In his free time, John Voelz fittingly enjoys exercise and sports, as well as plays, concerts, and novels by Dan Brown and Gary Zukav.
