Hala Saleem
Since 1999, board-certified psychiatrist Dr. Hala Saleem has helped patients with a range of mental health issues, including depression, stress, anxiety, attention deficit disorder, developmental disorders, and more. Dr. Hala Saleem treats children, adolescents, and adults. Dr. Hala Saleem also strives to educate ethnic populations that do not typically participate in mental health treatment, encouraging them to seek help when needed. As Medical Director of Modern Therapies for Mind and Soul, Inc., in Tracy, California, Dr. Hala Saleem has been assisting patients since 2003. Along with her staff, she provides excellent care for patients, taking on a host of administrative duties and ensuring that everyone has access to treatment, either through insurance or other arrangements.
Prior to her professional endeavors, Dr. Hala Saleem received a Doctor of Medicine from the Dow University of Health Sciences in Karachi, then entered a residency in adult psychiatry at the Civil Hospital in Karachi. In 1994, Dr. Hala Saleem immigrated to the United States, where she completed a three-year residency in adult psychiatry at Mount Sinai School of Medicine’s Elmhurst Hospital in New York. Dr. Hala Saleem continued her training at the Long Island Jewish Medical Center in New Hyde Park, New York, where she completed a fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry in 1999. Following her fellowship, Dr. Hala Saleem went into private practice for a couple of years, then joined the University of California, San Francisco General Hospital, where she served as a Clinical Instructor in Psychiatry and a Team Leader in the Adult Inpatient Psychiatric Unit. In addition, Dr. Hala Saleem worked with different ethnic groups at the hospital to increase awareness about the benefits of mental health counseling.
Licensed to practice medicine in California, Dr. Hala Saleem is both an adult and child and adolescent psychiatrist. She belongs to the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and the California Society of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, helping those who are underserved by working at Shasta County and Tehama County mental health facilities. Dr. Hala Saleem enjoys keeping current in her profession by reading industry journals and attending various seminars focused on presenting the latest information in the psychiatric field.
