Fountainhead Montessori

From its first California school in Orinda to its newest in Livermore, Fountainhead Montessori has provided quality Montessori education to students since 1971. First established in Illinois, Fountainhead was founded by Sarah Zimmerman, a student of Domicile Petrutis, who studied personally with Dr. Maria Montessori. The Livermore location is the newest member of the Fountainhead family, which has five campuses across California and a staff composed of experienced teachers.

Founded in 2004 and renovated in 2010, the Livermore campus offers two cutting-edge playground sets and special shading and air-misting systems to keep children safe from the heat even on the warmest days. The school offers half-day and full-day programs for children between 18 months and 6 years of age, with extended day and before-and-after care available for certain age groups.

The campus in Orinda, which was founded 30 years by Sarah Zimmerman after she relocated from Illinois, moved to more modern facilities in 1991. The Orinda location offers programs for children 2 to 6 years old, including the full range of full-, half-, and extended-day options. The second set of Fountainhead campuses were established in 1978 in Dublin and Danville. These campuses offer a full range of services and programs, featuring two top-end playgrounds and programs for children between 18 months to 6 years of age, including special morning and afternoon programs at the Dublin campus. The Pleasant Hill campus is the second-newest member of the Fountainhead family, founded 13 years before the Livermore location. The campus features the full range of Montessori programs in a campus renovated in 2010.
