Dr. Michael Rose
Board certified in plastic and reconstructive surgery, a Diplomate of the American Board of Surgery, and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, Dr. Michael Rose received his Bachelor’s degree from Skidmore College in 1990 and his Doctor of Medicine from the New York University School of Medicine in 1994. Receiving many distinguished graduate and undergraduate awards for academic excellence, he went on to complete a rigorous five-year residency in general surgery at the New York University Medical Center before transitioning to a role as Chief Resident for the institution. During this time, Dr. Rose also served as an instructor for medical students in the School of Medicine at NYU. He also received additional training during a fellowship in plastic and reconstructive surgery at Emory University in Atlanta, further adding to his medical expertise.
At present, Dr. Michael Rose performs a wide array of surgeries in his capacity as a plastic surgeon at The Plastic Surgery Center in Shrewsbury, New Jersey. Among his many specialties are all manner of breast enhancement procedures (reduction, augmentation, lifting), various body sculpting operations, and reconstructive surgeries for the correction of deforming injuries. Dr. Rose also holds particular interest in body contouring following significant weight loss surgery.
An active member of the professional field of plastic surgery, Dr. Michael Rose has participated in a series of joint research initiatives with colleagues. From January 1989 to May 1990, he explored new synthetic routes to biologically active bicyclic ring systems from acyclic precursors with Raymond J. Giguere, Ph.D. During the summer of 1991, Dr. Rose completed a trauma research project with Norman Paradis, M.D., which focused on significant injury predictors in penetrating trauma. Other research initiatives include an investigation of non-conventional methods of CPR and in-vivo hormone production during cardiac arrest and resuscitation, and an inquiry into pancreatic organogenesis and oncogenesis with colleagues George K. Gittes, M.D. and Michael T. Longaker, M.D., which involved an exploration of the processes underlying pancreatic development and the ways in which they relate to oncogenic transformation.
As a further testament to his active involvement in the greater community of plastic surgeons, Dr. Michael Rose holds memberships in many prominent industry organizations, including the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, the New Jersey Society of Plastic Surgeons, the American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (ASAPS), the American College of Surgeons, and the Monmouth Surgical Society, to name a few.
