Decron Properties Corp.
A real estate investment company with a reputation for designing useful, aesthetically pleasing urban in-fill projects, Decron Properties Corp. owns land and buildings worth more than $1.2 billion. The company, which was founded in the 1980s by Holocaust survivor Jack Nagel, now controls more than 6 million square feet of commercial and residential space. Decron Properties’ holdings include over 3,000 residential units, shopping centers, medical buildings, and business offices.
In 2008, Decron Properties acquired the leasehold for the Redondo Beach Marina. The investment gave the company 35 years to develop the 7.5-acre property. While previous ideas aimed at including apartments or a hotel in the development, Decron Properties chooses instead to concentrate on bringing restaurants, retail, and recreation to the marina.
With staff knowledgeable about areas that need and will support development, Decron Properties owns a number of shopping centers in cities such as Los Angeles, Van Nuys, and Fresno. Some of these properties serve nationally known anchor tenants, including Barnes & Noble, Best Buy, and Lowe’s Companies, Inc. Decron has proven especially successful at identifying shopping centers with potential; the company also manages the properties and oversees such issues as insurance, tenant relations, and maintenance.
With more than 30 years of experience in the acquisition and management of multifamily housing, Decron Properties still owns a number of properties its principals first bought in the 1970s. New trends toward living near city and business centers, spurred by higher fuel costs and increased traffic congestion, prompted the company to pursue urban in-fill properties. Its in-fill projects often rehabilitate older buildings and incorporate multiple zoning possibilities that enable tenants to live and work in the same area. Currently, Decron Properties owns more than 30 multifamily dwelling properties and has several under development. For more information about the firm, visit DecronProperties.com.
