Sunx Energy
With the recent spikes in the price of oil, there has been a lot of talk about alternative fuels, and a lot of scrambling to figure out new technologies to cope with the crisis. Unbeknownst to many people, a small Canadian firm, Sunx Energy has been developing alternative energy resources that are clean, renewable and 100% domestic. Sunx Energy, Inc. is an innovative company that produces and distributes environmentally friendly and clean renewable biodiesel fuel, as well as manufactures Biodiesel production equipment and technologies. Biodiesel as a technology has been around since 1853, when scientists E. Duffy and J. Patrick perfected a refinery process called transesterification. This process is a reaction of the oil with an alcohol to remove the glycerin, which is a by-product of biodiesel production and predates the first functioning diesel motor by many years. Accordingly, Sunx Energy biodiesel can be used in conventional diesel engines with little to no modification necessary. Biodiesel acts as a solvent, and may release deposits previously accumulated on walls and pipes from previous diesel fuel, thus cleaning cylinder walls and internal engine surfaces. To date, biodiesel is the only alternative fuel to have fully completed the health effects testing requirements of the Clean Air Act. Studies have shown that the use of biodiesel in a conventional diesel engine results in substantial reduction of unburned hydrocarbons, carbon monoxide, and particulate matter compared to emissions from diesel fuel. Biodiesel essentially eliminates the exhaust emissions of sulfur oxides and sulfates (major components of acid rain). Sunx Energy biodiesel contains no petroleum, but it can be blended at any level with petroleum diesel to create a biodiesel blend. B20 (a blend of 20 percent by volume biodiesel with 80 percent by volume petroleum diesel) consistently demonstrates significant environmental benefits with a minimum increase in cost for fleet operations and other consumers.
