Stephen DeMaura

A resident of Alexandria, Virginia, Stephen DeMaura currently splits his time between his work as a Founding Partner at his innovative startup market research firm, CrossTarget Research, and his position as the President of an advocacy organization, Americans for Job Security. At CrossTarget Research, established in 2009, Mr. DeMaura oversees the daily operation of the firm, working with clients, pollsters, and consultants to produce timely data so clients are able to make the best decisions possible. He also coordinates firm strategy, finances, and new client acquisitions in conjunction with fellow partners. At Americans for Job Security, Stephen DeMaura leads the trade organization in its efforts to promote issues that strengthen the American economy. A bipartisan, independent issue advocacy group, Americans for Job Security believes in the power of business and the free market to promote economic growth and job creation.

Stephen DeMaura has been active in politics and government for over a decade, beginning with his role as Executive Director of Democracy in Practice in the 2000 election. In this capacity, Stephen DeMaura promoted voter registration in high schools across New Hampshire, eventually organizing the New Hampshire Gubernatorial Youth Summit, at which all seven major gubernatorial candidates appeared to discuss the election and relevant issues with young voters. In 2002, Stephen DeMaura served as a Statewide Volunteer Coordinator for Bruce Keough for Governor, developing relationships with volunteers throughout New Hampshire as he built the state's volunteer organization for the campaign.

Stephen DeMaura attended American University in Washington, DC, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Communications, Law, Economics, and Government and served as the chapter President of Sigma Chi Fraternity. A graduate of the University’s Campaign Management Institute, Mr. DeMaura has applied his extensive knowledge of the political system and campaigns in his career. Besides his current positions, Stephen DeMaura is a candidate for a Master of Arts in Government at Johns Hopkins University.
