Scott Livanec
Scott Livanec is Director of Workforce Solutions and Analytics for The University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB) at Galveston, with extensive expertise in organizational assessment, process modeling, and implementation of technological change. As Senior and Principal Consultant for IBM Business Consulting Services, formerly the consulting division of PricewaterhouseCoopers, Scott Livanec assisted companies such as the Campbell Soup Company, the Otis Elevator Company, the United Technologies Corporation, the International Paper Company, and ABN AMRO Bank N.V. in improving their human resources programs and streamlining processes for lasting performance improvement.
Most notably, Scott Livanec?s experience includes work as a project lead and process subject matter expert for household names such as The Walt Disney Company. During his engagement with the global entertainment company, Mr. Livanec worked on the global blueprint model and initial domestic HR transformation effort that set the course for a 5-phase, 42-country implemenation. The tranformation saw the integration of enterprise resource planning systems, new cast member e-services, a knowledge base for a global portal, and an overhaul of many processes. At Fortune 500 retail company The Home Depot U.S.A., Inc., Scott Livanec analyzed the HR departments and payroll operations in order to reengineer methods of HR service delivery, a model that influenced HR operations at over 1,400 North American stores and corporate offices.
Scott Livanec began his education at The University of the South in Sewanee, Tennessee, with a BA in Economics. He earned an MBA in Finance and Management from Tulane University in his further studies. In his two decades of experience, Scott Livanec has developed a solid reputation for assisting businesses, individuals, and HR departments in recognizing their full potential.
Originally recruited from IBM to UTMB to ease the implementation of PeopleSoft HCM for employees and managers, Scott Livanec continues to be responsible for providing technology-enabled workforce solutions for the academic institution?s growing needs. He has helped the university transition from a mainframe environment to an enterprise resource model, furthering UTMB?s reach in better-practice technologies and methods. Mr. Livanec also acts as the Financial Manager for Human Resources, a position responsible for the oversight and budgeting of all monetary concerns for the department. Outside of work, Scott Livanec has donated his time to act as a coach for Galveston County Youth Soccer and the West Isle Little League, as well as to serve on the boards of the Rotary Club of Galveston and the Galveston Boat Club. He currently resides with his wife, their children, and their golden retriever in Galveston, Texas.
