Peter Copani
As Executive Director of Peoples Performing Company, Peter Copani possesses a number of American street plays to his credit. These plays, acted by actual teenagers who lived the lives depicted in them, appeared on the streets of New York City, as well as at the Lincoln Center during its summer festivals. Peter Copani authored plays that explore New York City street life and the tensions in different inner-city neighborhoods, and he has received critical acclaim for his significant contributions to easing community stress. Peter Copani has written works including The Blind Junkie, Scream Revolution, Street Jesus, Fire of Flowers, and No Where to Run. Peoples Performing Company has received funding from organizations including the Lincoln Center Festival, Poets & Writers, and the Department of Cultural Affairs. He seeks to raise the level of consciousness of the American public through the arts, encouraging people to find freedom and peace within themselves.
A certified Hippocrates Health Educator and practitioner for more than four decades, Peter Copani helps people improve their fitness, finances, and state of mind through his efforts as a health consultant. His work includes topics such as overcoming adversity, inspiration, knowing yourself, and healing and miracles. Peter Copani proved his methods by working through his own problems; he survived cancer and healed his back, arthritis in his neck, post-traumatic stress disorder, and hepatitis C. He has studied the Kabala, Greek philosophers, various religions, and the writings of Emanuel Swedenborg, who believed all humans are joined in cosmic unity. In addition, Peter Copani has studied Ken Wapnick’s A Course In Miracles, Earl Nightingale’s Lead the Field, and Dennis Waitley’s The Psychology of Winning and read more than a hundred self-help books.
