Linden Kemkaran
Linden Kemkaran is an experienced journalist at BBC News. Her strong on-screen presence and warm and authoritative broadcasting voice have allowed her to develop an enviable level of journalistic expertise, most notably in the topic of defence and security. The challenges of goal-setting and the meeting of deadlines are concepts which continuously inspire Linden Kemkaran. Kemkaran's life is filled with intensive projects like charitable marathon races, (Linden is slated to complete the 10K fun for Cancer Research UK in October), property renovation projects, and volunteer work at her children's nursery. One of Linden Kemkaran's favorite quotations reads, "When one door closes, another one opens." After Linden suffered a debilitating motorbike crash at the age of 24, it took her months of heavy rehabilitation for her to recover from her injuries. While in recovery, Linden realised fully that her life was not a dress rehearsal for some larger production. Her good fortune to have survived inspired her to go after her lifelong dreams of becoming a BBC journalist. At the time of the accident, Kemkaran was a personal secretary to the Assistant Chief of Defense Staff for Command Control and Communications Information Systems. Following her accident and subsequent rehabilitation at Headley Court military rehabilitation centre, Linden Kemkaran made the decision to go to University and pursue her goals—and she hasn't looked back. Linden Kemkaran's BBC News CV entries run the gamut from Defence and Security Producer, Reporter, and News Planner and Organiser. Currently, Linden Kemkaran is a Reporter/Producer across UK Newsgathering, covering all aspects of UK news. Linden Kemkaran's job description alternates between behind-the-scenes production and on-air multimedia reporting. She lives happily with her husband Peter, and their two young children, Fleur and Sol.
