Liana Gooch
As a teacher, Liana Gooch has endeavored consistently to enrich her own education and experience in order to provide the best learning environment for her students. Liana Gooch earned her Bachelor of Arts in Geography at the University of Canterbury in Christchurch, New Zealand, in 1992. The following year, Liana Gooch received her Diploma of Teaching from Christchurch College of Education. Liana Gooch gained valuable experience from 2004 until 2006 as the Coordinator of the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme with the Munich International School E.V. In 2007, Liana Gooch accepted a position at Toorak College as an Academic Enhancement Coordinator and a Teacher. Her responsibilities include instructing students in humanities and international studies, as well as supervising the development of programs designed to teach students vital skills and increase their academic performance. Committed to professional growth, Liana Gooch takes part in online educational communities such as Classroom 2.0 and Future of Education, a social network for education professionals. With the goal of encouraging life-long learning abilities, Liana Gooch implemented a study skills program designed for students from years 7 through 12. In addition, Liana Gooch takes part in the Powerful Learning Practice, a program that trains educators in cutting-edge classroom practices. Some of the new learning methods that Liana Gooch has helped introduce to Toorak College include the usage of Web 2.0 technologies such as graphics blogs and online map tools. Among the initiatives that Liana Gooch has developed for Toorak College are the Academic Endeavour Awards, which encourage students to develop optimal study skills.
