Kinga Tibold
Dr. Kinga Tibold has led an active and successful life. Exposed to a diverse learning environment from an early age, Dr. Tibold was a fluent speaker of Hungarian, French, and English before the age of six, when her family moved from Canada to the United States.
In Buffalo, New York, Dr. Tibold attended the Calasanctius Preparatory School, an institution for gifted children. In high school, Dr. Kinga Tibold studied the sciences and learned German. She also took ballet and played volleyball. She studied piano seriously for eight years, earning herself a second high school diploma in social music and piano in addition to the one she received from Calasanctius.
Dr. Kinga Tibold earned her B.S. in Biology from Duke University in North Carolina. She received her M.D. from The State University of New York University at Buffalo School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences and continued her training in a residency program at The Brookdale University Hospital and Medical Center in Brooklyn from 1992 to 1995. From 1995 to 1998, she taught residents at the center as an Attending Ophthalmologist. In addition, she practiced with the Wyckoff Heights Medical Center and the Brooklyn Medical Group, P.C.
Since 1998, Kinga Tibold, M.D., has served as an eye physician at Southern Maryland Ophthalmology, a private practice in Waldorf. In 2001, she co-founded a second branch with her practicing partner, Dr. Edward C. Clark. They also founded Breton Bay Optical, LLC, which offers eyewear and accessories inspired by today’s fashion trends.
In 2010, Dr. Kinga Michelle Tibold founded Bella Vision, LLC, a company devoted to the service and practice of ophthalmology. Dr. Kinga Tibold is a member of the Hungarian Medical Association of America and of the American Academy of Ophthalmology. She is a mother of three daughters.
