Keith Clinkscales

Previously the President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of VIBE Magazine, Keith Clinkscales is recognized as an influential media executive and minority business leader. After establishing VIBE Magazine as an urban pop culture phenomenon throughout the 1990s, Keith Clinkscales founded Vanguarde Media, Inc. in 1999. An ambitious organization, Vanguarde Media, Inc. published three magazines for a primarily African American audience. Honey was aimed at urban women, presenting unique content regarding entertainment and lifestyle. Heart & Soul covered topics on healthy living for black women. Savoy targeted African American professionals, presenting rich commentary on entertainment, business, sports, fashion, technology, and culture.

In 2004, Keith Clinkscales transitioned to the consulting side of the media industry, joining KTC Ventures as President and CEO. Still active with KTC Ventures, Keith Clinkscales has recently worked with such large corporations as PepsiCo Inc., Greyhound Lines, Inc., ESPN, Inc., and Kmart, regarding concept development, marketing, and cultural communication. Since 2005, Keith Clinkscales has been integral as a Senior Vice President at ESPN, Inc., where he has contributed numerous innovations including the launch of “The Body Issue” of ESPN The Magazine.

After earning a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Finance from Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University in 1986, Keith Clinkscales attended graduate school at Harvard Business School, where he earned a Master of Business Administration. Keith Clinkscales is a member of the Multicultural Advisory Board for PepsiCo, Inc. as well as an Academic Director for the Stanford Professional Publishing Course.

Throughout his career, Keith Clinkscales has served as Executive Producer for numerous television, film, and digital productions, including SportsNation, E:60, X Games, Varsity Inc., and Mayne Street. Keith Clinkscales has also served as Executive Producer for several notable documentaries such as Black Magic, The Association, A Woman Among Boys, The Greatest Game Ever Played, and Kobe Doin’ Work. In addition, he served as an executive producer for the acclaimed 30 for 30 Documentary series for ESPN Films.
