Katherine Shaw
Katherine E. Shaw is an investment management analyst residing in Wellesley, MA. Katherine Shaw received her BA in economics and government from the University of Virginia in 2000 and her MBA from Harvard University in 2008.
Katherine E. Shaw began her career in 2000 at Salomon Smith Barney, Inc. (now Citigroup Global Markets), in New York, NY. At Salomon Smith Barney, Ms. Shaw was an Investment Banking Analyst in the Financial Entrepreneurs Group. In this role, Katherine Shaw worked with leading private equity sponsors and their portfolio companies to provide investment banking services including financing and advice. She also helped develop and implement a training program for several hundred Salomon Smith Barney analysts on LBO Modeling.
In 2002, Katherine E. Shaw left Salomon Smith Barney and accepted a position with TA Associates, Inc., in Boston, MA. At TA Associates, Ms. Shaw’s title was Private Equity Associate in the Consumer and Business/Financial Services Group. Ms. Shaw’s responsibilities at TA Associates, Inc. included working on leveraged recapitalizations, buyouts, and growth capital transactions. Katherine Shaw also worked to market TA Associates’ services to potential portfolio companies. Katherine Shaw was also entrusted with the company’s 2005 employee training program, which she developed and implemented.
Katherine E. Shaw left TA Associates, Inc. in 2006 to earn her MBA at Harvard University, which she received in June of 2008, earning second year honors.
In addition to pursuing her work and studies, over the years Ms. Shaw gave back to her local community through various philanthropic causes, including Oxfam, The American Red Cross, the American Cancer Society, and Catholic Charities. She is also the founder of the Donald J. Shaw, Jr. Memorial Scholarship at her alma mater high school. This scholarship provides substantial funds towards the college education of one deserving student each year.
