Jim Ambras
Jim Ambras is the Founder and CEO of NotchUp, an executive recruiting company designed for in-demand professionals and leading corporations. While still in invitation-only Beta, the Palo Alto based NotchUp has a growing user base of over 100,000 marketable executives. Jim Ambras designed this service to match professionals that are in demand with leading firms looking to attract top talent. Mr. Jim Ambras also sits on the ZeeSource Board of Advisors. Before founding NotchUp, Jim Ambras served as Vice President of Engineering for a social networking and media sharing service, Peerflix. Mr. Ambras was personally responsible for building and maintaining site functionality at Peerflix. Jim Ambras also worked as the Vice President of Products and Services for OnStation, a provider of automotive Customer Relationship Management solutions. In this capacity, Ambras developed and deployed a number of signature products for the firm and was instrumental in turning the company around and increasing profitability and revenues. Mr. James Ambras has also served as Vice President of Engineering at AltaVista. Ambras oversaw the development of AltaVista Europe and built 20 international search portals from the ground up in order to expand the search engine’s global reach. Ambras also led development of AltaVista Live, which served as the firm's web portal when the company was only a search engine. Jim Ambras studied Computer Science as an undergraduate and earned his Bachelor’s of Science degree from Syracuse University. When he is not working, Jim Ambras enjoys cross-country, alpine touring and downhill skiing. He regularly vacations at the Kirkwood Mountain Resort and takes pleasure in the beauty of California’s Alpine County.
