Godfrey Ingram
Responsible for more than 270 league goals during a football career that spanned nearly a quarter of century, retired athlete Godfrey Ingram now serves in several leadership roles within the financial services and commodities industries. As President of Bluemax Ventures Inc. since 2006, venture capitalist Godfrey Ingram translates his resources into intelligent investments in expanding companies. Ingram also serves as President of Landmark Capital, a commercial lending group that supports businesses of various sizes in exploring their potential.
Raised in Luton, England, Godfrey Ingram developed a passion for football as a member of regional youth teams and first played professionally with Luton Town Football Club; he quickly earned recognition for his prowess as a striker and accepted a loan position with North American Soccer League (NASL) team New York Cosmos. While living in New York, Godfrey Ingram quickly established himself on the celebrity social scene and made frequent appearances at renowned venue Studio 54 with pal Mick Jagger of the Rolling Stones. Ingram’s acclaim only continued to expand; as a popular figure on the field with the San Jose Earthquakes during the 1982 season, Godfrey Ingram broke records and fans dubbed him “Mr. Excitement.” He finished the season with 17 goals, 11 of which were game-winning. An active figure in the football world until 2001, Godfrey Ingram contributed to the success of teams such as Cardiff City, the Golden Bay Earthquakes, the Minnesota Strikers, the Dallas Sidekicks, and the Tacoma Stars. Today, Godfrey Ingram lives and works in Southern California. Passionate about translating his success to the support of others, Ingram supports the Congressional Black Caucus and volunteers with Drug Abuse Resistance Education (D.A.R.E.), an advocacy group that offers youths the tools to lead healthy, happy lives.
