Charles Holland Los Angeles
Based in Los Angeles, Charles Holland has a multi-faceted relationship with Hollywood's film and television industry. With more than two decades’ experience in the field, he is an educator, writer, and producer. Skilled at governing various aspects of the production process, he has been involved with script production, casting, principal photography, and pre/post production for TV shows including Profiler, Playmakers, and Food. Charles Holland also contributed to Murder One and CSI Miami. He demonstrates experience in crafting commercial concepts and has pitched ideas to a host of prominent networks and studios that ultimately garnered more than $1 million in sales.
Translating his passion for vivid imagery and the written word into other genres, Los Angeles-based screenwriter Charles Holland ideated and composed Butcher Knight, a comic book series that attracted more than $150,000 in sales. As an instructor, Holland joined Columbia College of Broadcasting as an Adjunct Professor to teach advanced television writing. Currently, he leads classes closer to Hollywood, at the University of California, Los Angeles, Department of Film, Television and Digital Media.
Before embarking on his current path, Charles Holland gained a diverse understanding of the industry as an entertainment lawyer. He completed his undergraduate education at the University of Illinois, then earned his Juris Doctor from Harvard Law School. He went on to a teaching fellowship with the university, during which he guided students in the study of government and psychology and was awarded a Certificate of Distinction in undergraduate teaching. Holland subsequently spent almost a decade representing entertainment professionals and became well versed in contract creation, intellectual property cases, and negotiation.
