Brad Dean

A resident of Murrells Inlet, South Carolina, Brad Dean serves a number of communities in the Grand Strand as the President and Chief Executive Officer of the Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce. Brad Dean’s work in this capacity was highlighted after he attracted a session of the 2008 presidential debates to Myrtle Beach, bringing millions of dollars of revenue to local business during the traditionally quiet off-season. A vocal supporter for the extension of Interstate 73, Brad Dean works in the state capitol, lobbying for its extension to Grayling, Michigan. This project would bring significant economic gains to Myrtle Beach and communities in six states along the planned route.

A graduate of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with a degree in accountancy, Brad Dean served as a Financial Analyst at the General Electric Company (GE) in Connecticut and Puerto Rico. After his tenure with GE, Brad Dean joined the Hard Rock Café as a Financial Analyst and quickly established himself as a leader within the company, earning a promotion to the position of General Manager. For three years, Brad Dean successfully oversaw a $20 million restaurant and retail operation located on Broadway at the Beach in Myrtle Beach. He next joined the Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce as the organization’s Chief Financial Officer. An avid reader of business journals, Brad Dean also enjoys books on history and reading the Bible. Brad Dean belongs to the Surfside United Methodist Church and contributes to such charities as the United Way of Horry County, American Heart Association, March of Dimes, and Friends of Brookgreen Gardens.
