Badge Magic
Created by former Scout Leader Dave Herbig, Badge Magic presents a revolutionary way to attach badges to uniforms, without the stress and hassle of using a needle and thread. After witnessing other parents put off the “chore” of attaching new badges, and with a personal understanding of how inconvenient sewing could be, Mr. Herbig set out to create a simpler, less time-consuming way to attach badges. Testing various pressure sensitive (peel and stick) adhesive formulations, Badge Magic eventually developed an adhesive system that could be applied easily and stay put, even after multiple uses and over 50 wash and dry cycles. Moreover, he found that it allowed for the easy removal of badges. Once he filed for the necessary patents and the approval of the Supply Division of the Boy Scouts of America, Badge Magic was officially born.
Dave Herbig remains proud of Badge Magic and all that it represents. Carrying the key principles and mission of the Boy Scouts into his business philosophy, the Badge Magic owner and founder utilizes only American manufacturing facilities. In addition, he focuses on hiring workers with handicaps who may otherwise have difficulty finding jobs.
Badge Magic can be purchased at Boy Scout and Girl Scout shops and online stores throughout the country as well at the company's website, www.badgemagic.com. Most kits are pre-cut for the required badges and patches. Kits for any patch (Cut-to-Fit Kit) and for hemming are also available. Badge Magic also offers custom kits for the American Legion, Awana, Pioneer Clubs, and Scouts Canada.
